Molybdenum is an essential component in two enzymes that convert nitrate into nitrite (a toxic form of nitrogen) and then into ammonia before it is used to synthesize amino acids within the plant. It is also needed by symbiotic nitrogen-fixing bacteria in legumes to fix atmospheric nitrogen. Without sufficient molybdenum plants accumulate nitrate in their leaves, but cannot use it to make proteins for normal growth. The plant becomes stunted and the leaves show symptoms of nitrogen deficiency, appearing pale green or yellowish green in colour between the veins.
This product is designed to be used foliarly when Molybdenum may be deficient. This product can be mixed with herbicides and fungicides. Consult label for specific application instructions and always conduct a jar test. Rates on crops on the prairies are 10mL to 25mL per acre.
